This policy is in effect as of June 27, 2014.
CMH Software provides quality maintenance of its software products that includes technical support and regular new releases. We strive to constantly improve, fix and enhance our products. Thus, we release new minor and major versions rather often. CMH Software supplies its software upgrades according to the following policy.
A software upgrade release can be major or minor. A major upgrade will change the version number, whereas the minor will usually follow with a “.01″, “.02″, “.03″, etc. For example, version 11.03 means that that is the third minor upgrade of version 11. The minor upgrades (or updates) are free , but the upgrades to major versions must be purchased with a discount (usually around 50%). It means that you will not be charged for a new minor version, but will be asked to pay half the price if you upgrade to the new major version.
Upgrade Cost
Some current customers of CMH Software are eligible for getting the new major version of the purchased product with up to a 50% Upgrade Discount (off the standard price specified on our website).
If you have purchased the software within a ‘grace period‘ (45 days before the release of the new major version), CMH Software will gladly provide you with a free download upgrade. Just let us know you'd like a free upgrade by emailing us at sales@cmhsoftware.com or by calling us at 1-406-293-4977.
Note: in the cases listed below the free upgrade under the ‘grace period’ terms doesn’t apply:
- You got the software for free (Complimentary Copy);
- You purchased the software as part of a bundle (McGraw Hill Books);
- You purchased the software with a discount (not at its full retail price).
- You purchased the software at full price and the new release full price is higher. (You will be asked to pay the difference, if you want the new version.)
Old Versions
We encourage all customers to stay current with the latest versions of our software but we provide support for at least 3 previous major versions as long as the software is run on a Microsoft supported Windows platform.
You can continue using your old version for a life-time period as long as you have the install file (setup.exe) and the serial number since most of our products have no expiration date. We recommend adding a Backup CD to your cart when ordering a download version of the software from us. If you don’t want to order a Backup CD, you can burn such yourself or save the file to a flash drive.
Note: CMH Software has a right to change its Upgrade Policy without sending personal notifications to all the users but CMH Software guarantees that all the changes in its Upgrade Policy will be posted here and related website locations.
